Finding Someone To Ride With

S
There are times when you want to ride but just cant get out of my own way ... those are the days one needs to find someone to ride with! It could be anyone! That is just how it happened for me.... I was on FB in conversation with someone I hadnt ridden with before but lives on my street. I was thankful all went well and we were both able to enjoy a ride! I dont always want to go out and work the jump field or the dressage pattern Im training for, and I am sure my mounts get tired of it too. So any chance I get I am always looking for capable riders to enjoy a day out on the trail with me and give me a reason to leave my computer for a few hours and enjoy the day GOD made :) Thank you Janie ~ here's to more rides on thousands of acreas in the Game Lands!

LOOKING BACK

My students at FIRST JUMPING SHOW

... sorry for the late posts. Between going on vaca with dad to Canada on a motorcycle trip and then returning to do hay, I have been busy outside of the horse world.

BUT not to fret... we did go to a show at Lucky Clover Farm in Sanford. Sue Austin owns the facility and most of the kids at the show where from the stable. That alone made it a laid back environment for the girls. They were able to learn alot that day.

Picking n choosing their own classes and asking questions about those classes for one. Making Haley go and sign up for her own classes with her own money for two. Then the getting ready and warming up for three. It was alot for them to digest I am sure. BUT HEY... if they want to show this is what they will expect. GETTING THERE EARLY ~ because ring warm up time is before show time and ring closes ... which is what Kaitlyn found out. She did not get any jump time in before classes started because she arrived too late.

Haley found out she needs not be concerned about others in the ring and do her own thing and CALL the jumps before you go over them. She also learned just because you jump 2' jumps in your own arena doesnt mean you are ready to go to a show at that level.

RULE OF THUMB ~ always show one level under what you work on at home. So you know you are ready when you get to a show.... a show always brings out all the things you have to work on or didnt know you had to work on! RIGHT GIRLS! ?????

I couldnt take a horse because I was the photographer for the show. I promised and I had missed the first show photo ops. I wanted to take Baby to school her but there will be plenty more options later this year :)

I got some great pics!!!!!!

MOVING ON!

Geeeez! I havent been on here in so long I almost forgot how to access this site! Well, its due time... actually over due but in due season :) I would assume all my followers have left the building so here I start again... for my own sake and sanity. Its the closest thing Im going to get in keeping a journal, as typing comes easy. So much has been going on and I have going on, I am excited to report! I will be launching my new lesson program for Still Waters Farm Arena. Should be a great opportunity to reach many new hopefulls, students, horses in need of a job, and adults that want to enjoy their equine hobby to the fullest. I am planning on starting out with 6 shows this year and year end awards for those intersted in joining the Still Waters Arena show circuit. Three shows pleasure and three gaming shows. I hope to be mentor to many people that are in need of more knowledge. Offering trail dates, versititly riding, rodeos and clinics there should be something for everyone with a horse :) If you have any feedback on other ideas feel free to comment! Until next time ~

RIDING ALL WINTER!!!!

I've Moved ... and looking forward to riding ALL winter!

Stay tuned for my revised goals... now returning to my maiden name of Cocchio and looking for God to lay out his NEW plan before me.
While I am awaiting my new job, I found a lovely place to reside and new friends to enjoy conversation with and hope that every day will be filled with learning, love and lasting relationships.
Nove 15th and the leaves here in North Carolina are just falling and it is a balmy 72 degrees. Gotta go ride Charlie right now but I will be back!

ITS BEEN A LONG TIME....

Its been a long time since my last post. I guess life does get in the way of a lot of things. Many changes and many more to come. Trying to sell the horses I have so that I can lighten my load and move to Kentucky. I am all done with swimming up stream in the forsaken north east. This past winter was hard... it was hard on us all... and its time to move onward and upward.

I think that relocating in the beautiful KY is the best decision I have made in a long time. The funding is the only thing holding me back. I will miss my life here, the good times I had, the lessons I have learned and I look forward to the challenges of relocation, finding a good paying job, a new home, and a place to ride and enjoy my continueing education in eventing.

Being in the midst of a place where they live and breath horses has been a life long dream of mine. Having an opportunity to start life over can be hard but it can be exciting. Maybe it will rekindle my drive to do and be again... with dreams that are meant to be be dreamt!

Leaving behind all the friends and family is one thing, leaving behind my equine stock that I may not be able to bring with me, and my hurtful past of 21 years of lost marriage is another whole story I cannot think about in fear that it will ruin my future and my desire for a new beginning.

Hopefully there will be posts .... the good the bad and the ugly... but no guarantees... as some days its hard for me just to take my head off the pillow and open my eyes to another day of reality.

Until then... prayers are appreciated,
B
