RAIN... will it ever end.

July 2nd.... and only 8 weeks left of summer... WHAT THE HECK?
I did ride Angel yesterday... and thank Mindy for showing up and giving me the motivation to do so, as it has been WEEKS since I last rode him.
He went well. I am hoping to have someone take pictures of our progress to compare the before and afters. I have been DYING to get the horses to HEP to school over the cross country course... but we know why that hasnt happened YET.

I have to be honest and say that motivation is lacking these days. The list gets longer and longer of things to do during the day and I get more and more depresses to not have accomplished anything as days march on. How about planing things? NOPE. How about putting a horsey event to go to on the calender? NOPE. How about painting the upstairs? NOPE. Bills? NOPE. Cleaning? NOPE. Orgainizing mounds of paperwork? NOPE.

WHAT GIVES?

Severe depression setting in or what? Do I need to be medicated or SLEEP in my tanning bed? I havent even found the time to consistently do that... and I have to cover up this BEAUTIFUL coloring I have acquired on my leg... that gravity is pulling down into my lower leg all blotchy like... mmmm NICE! But hey... no sun, no summer, no swimming... no cares.

NOW that Angel is better, I can get Jaimie to come and ride the shit out of him. Hoping she can fix his left lead issues... or ride him enough to balance him out. Fix me in the mean time so that I can follow up on what she has started for the week.

Charlie ~ i havent rode him since... MONDAY of last week, nor Baby before that. I suck! Simply sucking at the work ethic deal here. Lets talk more about that shall we? Work? Where? When? How much? What kind? How long?... just not interested to say the least.... that must be blamed on the sun also right? Whatever the case may be... I hope that it finds an end soon... I cannot take it anymore.... for my mental state and welfare... MUST SEE SUN & DO GOOD THINGS!

over n out.

YOU SAID IT FHOTD!

love it love it love it!
SO TRUE!
GOD! Who can say it better than her?
NOBODY!
enjoy ~ and I quote:
"For those who think I am too harsh on breeders like this, let me give you an analogy. Let's say you opened up your Sunday paper and there was a dealership with a Nissan for sale describing it as having a 12 cylinder engine, anti-latch brakes, a DC player and power storing. After you got done laughing, my guess is your first thought would be "what a bunch of idiots" and "how can they be in the car business if they don't know anything about cars?" That's my point. The horse business is a business and if you can't conduct it with the same level of professionalism and demonstrated knowledge of your product that we'd expect in any other business, you shouldn't be in it."
EXACTLY!

UPDATE ... on my leg.

Well its not looking any better... its a mass that is hard as a rock and painful to sit on. You dont sit on the back of your legs... or so you think until you have something like this amis.

So it is healing... it is itchy... it is colorful... and ouchy!

I have an appointment at 9 tomorrow to check it out with physical therapy. Someone told me that its better to be safe than sorry. I have also heard that it could take all summer to dissolve the black and blue... or yellow... and or may NEVER go away. So I would rather fare on the safe side and have it looked at. I was also told to massage it... OUCH! I have tried... it aches.

Charlie bastid! My fault tho... no its ok... its my fault. I have broad shoulders Charles...

This pic was taken the next nite....TUESDAY nite.

This picture was taken THURSDAY MORNING!

..... and this is right now... TUESDAY ....

...it still hurts .... especially when I touch it... the muscle area is still swollen.

Now I know why horses dash before the hooves fly!
Yowza!

Itsa MOOSE... a Maine Moose!

So while I was up to pasture taking pictures of my kids enjoying the fruit of the land.... a truck stops at the gate and calls for me. My friend Tom asked if I wanted to take pics of a moose.
Well SHA!
N here they are....

Hosses UPTA pasture ... ALL FOUR!

Had to make two trips to get them all there... kind of a pain... but it has been misting rain for days... and boredom takes over and they are not kind to the shading trees that stand. SO who cares if they get a little wet? They are usually ready by the time I go to fetch them in the late afternoon... sometimes they are shivering :)
HA!
But I dont have to chase them down to get the halters on they load themselves!
Kind of neat :)

So here are the boyz...
watching cows...
and touching noses...
and Charlie being all noble looking...
had to take pics of that :)

.... WHY WHY WHY end a good day on a bad note?

Thank you CHARfrigginLIE~!
You bastard! Who has to take responsibility for this?
I DO!
WHY?

Because its my fault my horse doesnt have manners... unfortunately!
& because I need a rope lounge line... not the flat ones that get knotted to shit!
I have been saying this for how long folks?

I get distracted keeping them unknotted... and look away for one second... and he is getting a leg over the rope while he is bucking and kicking and then whipped around and tangled himself in it all the while... not stopping rearing and kicking... and I am like... SHIT! He is going to have BAD rope burn if I dont act quick... and sure enough... got within kicking distance trying to get his head to WHOA!

I wacked him up good after he tried to strike me AGAIN and then worked him 15 minutes... and then put him in tacked up for a half hour tied to the wall while I iced it ... then gimped back out and rode!

DONCHA' LUV IT? I do! YA love em to DEATH DO US PART! BASTARD!

SO ... I cant chat ... have to go ice it ~ as its getting HOT and aches like hell....

Actually I am better if it stays active... tomorrow ought to be REALLY FRIGGIN COLORFUL, swollen, painful and NICE! Especially for softball!

CANT WAIT!
PS

Uneventful up to pasture thank GOD! Gimped up there loaded em up and put em to bed....

OVER N OUT!

Up To Pasture in the RAIN~!

Rain Rain Rain...
but the kids can still enjoy grazing while the bugs lay low in the rain.
Charlie stayed home as he and baby have been up to pasture every time the last 4 times.
Didnt Angel enjoy himself... .... and the cows he spied across the field beyond the fence.
What R those he asked the girls... WIERD looking thangs!
Of course the beautiful and talented Misty Blue hogged the lens with her elegance and grace!

Getting the piss n vinegar out! Watch out Baby!

Angel how do you do that?

Wondering what those funny short necked Thangs are over there?

Angel sticking his tongue out at the cows!

Another Dreary Day.... but a good one!

Today was my day with Charles.... and it was good.
As you can see by his pictures... he was being exceptionally well at accepting the bit and leg aids.
I only worked on maintaining rythm... but he is a natural.

I worked on bending... no difficulties.

I worked on headset and forward motion.

He was accepting and wanted more.

We worked on half passes at the walk... and it was a good start.

Backing ... great.

Halting PERFECT ...

HELLO? Perfect headset... and he holds it until I release the reins!

Cantering... well we have to do a little more work there.... he is high at the rump right now... which pitches us forward and makes him heavy on the forhand... but on the lounge he is balanced. SO hmmm I guess that would be me?

GOSH... I want to just unload that 50 lb bag of grain I have been laboring around with me the last 10 years and just be done with it! THEN I can do all that I want to do and it will be easier on myself and my horses.....SO WHY WHY WHY cant I? Friggin american way... LAZY!

Anyhoooooooooo must be the weather... its getting to me. A great day to take some pics tho! Thank you Charity! An aspiring photographer herself! Greatly appreciate not haveing to tripod my cybershot this time... because I can never stay within the lens!

HEP SHOW

WOW ~ another busy weekend. After helping a fellow photographer organize and shoot little league teams ALL DAY on Saturday ... I was pooped before we even started our adventures on Sunday at the HEP Benefit Fun Show. But what a good time! I mean hats off to our B.O.D. of the HEP for coming up with class names like "Extreme Makeover" "Dr Phil" & "Desperate Housewives" class names! What couldnt be more fun that putting that on your winning ribbon? Well Misty got some recognition in "As The World Turns" ... Barrel Racing. We even got our Judge to hop on for a turn around the barrels!~

The girls had fun, Misty had fun... and all are happy and ready to rock and roll for the summer season events... fingers crossed! I hear MOUSAM show is this coming Sunday! Anyone up for it?

Kaitlyn did well to swaller her reservations about classes and just DO IT! Unlike some sallys :) But hey ... that sally did canter the WHOLE barrel pattern! WOOOT WOOOT! We have videos! STILL EDITING ~ sorry ... you will have to bite your fingers until then.

JUMPER NITE Wild Run Farm

I have been trying to go for weeks now but its either the weather or the nite or whatever... FINALLY I was able to go this afternoon and was happy to be taking Angel as he has been all but ignored since his back soreness came to a head. WELL... went and Haley wanted to come so I put her to work for me with my Canon 50D! Ya baby... see this big lens her darlin? Ya ... make it work for you... and she did! She got some cool shots... but not the best jumping ones... OH WELL! C'mon first time running a SLR camera what can you say right?

So her are Angel and I debuting again... he has finised 2 out of 3 sessions of acupucture ... and tonight wasnt really a good night and he was ansy and full of it... grinding the teeth and all. I didnt want to leave until he quieted down which only came to pass after I worked him some more in the indoor after 3 rounds of jumping :(.... oh well not our night.... but we got out there at least! He rides so gangly in comparison to Baby and Charlie. I wish I only had ONE horse... no really! ... then I would be back to my greatness in riding like the days of ol' TESS ... she was my one and only an I hers. Riding these green horses, and 3 different types and minds and all this doesnt make me much confident in my approach to training. Honestly some can argue it makes you a better rider... agreed. BUT ... I cannot get the job done at hand or realize my dreams with 3 avenues! So must simplify ... SOON!

REIGNITING THE PASSION FOR EVENTING

My blog name has changed over the years, but my goal always remained the same, to be in eventing! I had goals, but never knowing how to att...
